It’s Palm Sunday morning and I crave a pancake for breakfast. Off we went to Mc Donald’s as this is the closest to us. Unfortunately, pancakes are not available there. So off we went to Jollibee instead and I’m glad we did!
Jollibee is the most famous fast-food chain in the Philippines. Jollibee, the mascot has become an iconic symbol of Filipino childhood and joy – as in chickenJOY! Your life as a Filipino child is never complete without a visit to a Jollibee restaurant or without a picture with Jollibee himself (or herself – I don’t know if Jollibee is a girl or a boy – it really doesn’t matter though).
I saw a pamphlet at the payment counter, and I asked the staff if I could take one. The three-fold leaflet is about” Visita Iglesia de Batangas”. This is an interesting brochure. It showcases the different Church Destinations in Batangas that you can visit during Holy Week.

It has the name of the church, where it is located, some brief information about the church and of course where you can find the nearest Jollibee branch near those churches. It’s brilliant marketing material. This is the type of brochure that you wouldn’t just throw away. It’s something you can keep and use again – not just during Semana Santa – but also when you want to get yourself familiarize with the different churches or pilgrimage sites in the Philippines. It’s very informative and useful.
The pamphlet also has a QR Code at the back that you can scan to access the digital map. The page will show you a yellow-colored Philippine map, in red background that shows all the recommended and notable churches you can visit in Luzon, NCR (National Capital Region), Visayas and Mindanao during Visita Iglesia. Click on the location at the map and voila, it will show you all the notable churches that can be found in that place.

I’m amazed by the dedication and hard work invested in crafting this brochure and digital map, aimed at providing valuable information about churches across the Philippines. Beyond just the Visita Iglesia tradition, this initiative offers Filipinos a glimpse of the richness of our culture and the abundance of beautiful churches that symbolize our faith in God.
Kudos to Jollibee and all the people behind the creation of this Visita Iglesia brochure and digital map! May you and other restaurants or stores continue to produce marketing materials like this. I can’t say it enough, but this is truly awesome and worthy.

In a way – I’m glad McDonald’s run out of pancakes today, if not we wouldn’t be spending our breakfast at Jollibee and we wouldn’t see this beautiful pamphlet!
Until next time.
