I don’t know about you, but every time I watch an episode of a Korean drama series, I crave Ramyeon, Samgyupsal or any other Korean food.
Korea is one of the countries I wanted to visit someday and have a taste of their cuisine. For now, I will satisfy my cravings in local spots serving Korean food.
Cook your own Ramyeon at WOONMART
Let us start with Ramyeon at Woonmart. We went to one of its branches in Lipa City, in DLD Town Center in Antipolo. It’s a 24-hour convenient store selling Korean sourced Ramyeon and many other Korean food products. It’s a cook your own ramyeon shop.

I have asked for assistance from the Woonmart staff as this is my first time in their store and they gladly helped me. I chose Ottogi brand Jin Ramen, as per the staff’s recommendation. Its spicy level is just mild. It is one of their bestseller ramen brands.
Here are the steps when cooking your own ramyeon at Woonmart:
- First, you need to choose your ramyeon.
- Second, choose your toppings
- Third, pay at the cashier.
- Fourth, cook your ramyeon, then enjoy & eat!
- Lastly, don’t forget to clean as you go!
You can also watch this video on how to cook your own ramyeon at Woonmart.
At Woonmart, they also sell desserts, sweets, chips, beverages and frozen goods. I believe most are sourced from Korea, and some are imported from other countries.

My ramyeon cravings were satisfied in Woonmart. It’s a bit pricey for me (maybe because we have tried all the toppings), but I enjoyed the food and the experience.
Unlimited Korean Buffet at DOOKKI
My next Korean food experience is from Dookki. It’s an eat-all-you-can buffet serving Korean delicacies. They have more than 20 branches nationwide and can mostly be found inside SM Department Store. We tried the SM Sta Rosa, Laguna branch.
You will be seated with a hotpot on your table. Since this is our first time in Dookki, their staff offered to create the hotpot mix for us. I don’t know what kind of soup and sauce he put in there, but it was so tasty! I really enjoyed it. We put some veggies and toppings and ramen noodles, and it tasted really good.
Dookki has their vegetables and topping self-serve bar. I’m quite impressed with the variety – from seafoods including shrimp. mussels, corn, fish tofu, carrots, cabbage, onion leeks, oyster mushroom, yellow cabbage, enoki mushroom, bokchoy, lettuce, pumpkin, tofu skin, and tofu stick.

They have different kinds of sauce to choose from- dookki original sause, barbeque and cream sauce (recommended for children), dongdaemon (extremely hot sauce), mala (spicy and numbing sauce), ddukmo (made by an expert in toppoki sauce), busan (old school toppoki sauce), jajang (sweet).
I really enjoyed the Koren fired chicken which comes in different flavors– original (plain and crispy), yangnyeom (sweet and spicy), ppurin (chessy), gangjeong (sweet and tangy).
They also have the fried section which you can find dynamite, squid balls, seaweed roll, fried sweet potato, french fries, mandu, and seafood pancake.
You can choose from 4 different kinds of noodles – ramen noodles, koren flat noodles, sotanghon and chinese flat noodles.

Bulgogi, Samgyupsal, side dishes, seasonal fruits, riceballs are also available in the buffet. Boiled egg and steamed rice are also served. You can even ask the staff to cook for you a cheesy ramen. Plus one serving of 1 scoop of ice cream (a flavor of your choice – chocolate, vanilla, mango, ube) is also included.
What more can you ask for?
One person for this buffet would only cost you 549 pesos. They usually have birthday promo, where the birthday celebrant can eat for free as long as he/she is accompanied by 3 paying adults.
If you are craving ramyeon (even during wee hours) or want to have a quick K-food bite, I would suggest go to Woonmart store. But if you want a full K-cuisine experience, Dookki is so worth it.
