Boracay was not on my list. Why? I always thought it was overrated, crowded, and somewhat exploited. But then I wondered: why do so many celebrities, foreigners, vloggers, bloggers, and even one of my friends really like spending time in Boracay? One of my favorite vloggers, Mel and Enzo of Go with Mel, are always in Boracay almost every year, or more than once.

So, I decided to give Boracay’s white-sand beach a try and see for myself what makes it so lovable to so many people.

I booked a flight last November 2025 for February 2026. I chose Philippine Air Asia. AirAsia flights were cheaper than Cebu Pacific Air and Philippine Airlines when I booked. They also have FastPass deals, which offer a lot of convenience.

Next, of course, is hotel booking. I want a beachfront hotel. I booked a night in the Coast Hotel at Station 2 and 3 nights in the Royal Park Hotel at Station 1. Then at Station 3-a night in Marzon Beach Resort Boracay and a night in Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort.

The main reason why you would want a beachfront hotel in Boracay:

A beach-bed access for sunbathing and, most importantly, for sunset viewing. Boracay white sand beach offers a magnificent sunset view and orange-colored sky after sunset- whether you’re at Station 1, 2, or 3, or even at Station Zero- and you wouldn’t want to be just standing there waiting for sunset. You can bring or rent a banig or picnic mat, find a good spot in front of the beach, and just lie down while you wait for sunset. But with me, I prefer to have a nice beach bed while waiting for the sun to go down. Also, if you don’t have any activities or tours booked in Boracay, it’s nice to stay at a beachfront hotel with a comfy beach bed where you can just lounge all day.

The Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay is also a beach-front hotel, but we didn’t stay there. We only availed of their day pass to experience the differences between Station Zero and Stations 1, 2, and 3.

Reason why I chose Coast on our first night in Boracay:
It is a beachfront hotel at Station 2. They have a complimentary airport transfer using their own speedboat. They took care of everything-registration, terminal fee, environmental fee, etc. It was just my partner and me on the speedboat during the transfer, and we felt like real VIPs.

Coast Boracay

There is no need to line up at the regular port, as they have their own private port. When we transferred to our next hotel, the Royal Park Hotel, Coast also provided a complimentary transfer in their own van.

I booked Coast Hotel through AGODA because it was more affordable there than on KLOOK at the time of booking.

Reason why I chose Royal Park Hotel and stayed there for 3 nights and 4 nights:
It is a beachfront hotel in Station 1. Their hotel is strategically located, with direct access to the beachfront and the main road. Their location is also the meet-up place for island-hopping tours and other water activities. Just beside the Royal Park Hotel, you will see tables lined up where all the travel agents are stationed.

Side story: We didn’t have any plans for activities in Boracay when we went there, but we got curious about the different tours offered. In the end, we went on an island-hopping tour on a private boat. I’ll tell you more about it here- Private Island Hopping Tour in Boracay.
My partner pre-booked a fishing adventure with Boracay Activities with Andre, and their meet-up place was just in front of our hotel at 6 am- so convenient!

Reason why I chose Marzon Beach Resort Boracay:
It is one of the best beachfront hotels in Station 3. This one, I can say, is one of the highlights of our stay in Boracay. I’m glad I was able to book their beachfront room, and we were given room Number 1 when we stayed there. Just look at this picture, taken from inside our room:

Do I need to say more? Marzon Beach Resort Boracay beachfront room has a million-dollar view! It is literally a beachfront room. In less than 10 steps, you’ll be in front of the beach! And the sunset view is to die for! You would want to stay in this room all day. I wish I had stayed at Marzon Beach Resort Boracay longer. I regretted booking it for just one night.

Reason why I chose Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort:
This is located just a few steps away from Marzon Beach Resort. Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort has a viewing deck where you can have a magical view of Boracay from above. You’ll have an awesome sunset view here, as well as the after-sunset view. I think they have the highest building in Station 3.

Is the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay day-pass worth it?
A big YES! In all stations in Boracay, Station Zero is where I truly enjoyed swimming at the beach. No moss (lumot) and less crowded. Plus, the money that you paid for a day pass is consumable for food and drinks. Their beach beds are also big and comfy. The ones near their pool can accommodate a couple. It’s the kind of experience that’s really worth your money.

Coast Hotel Boracay, Royal Park Hotel, and Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort offer buffet-style breakfast, while Marzon Beach Resort Boracay offers plated breakfast. Can’t complain about the food in these hotels-all of them are sumptuous and generous in servings.

Of course, every hotel has its drawbacks—here are some of the cons I’ve encountered during our stay:

The Coast – they do not have direct access to the road, but it’s not a big issue, as the staff will overwhelmingly assist you with your baggage.

Royal Park Hotel – since it is located near the area where travel agents stationed their tables and it is a meet-up place for tours and activities, the crowd will overwhelm you, especially if you just want peace and quiet, beachfront view.

Of all the hotels we stayed in, only the Marzon Beach Resort Boracay room is still using an old-school key and lock. The staff patiently demonstrated how to open and lock the door. All the other hotels we stayed in used keycards to open digital doors. But it’s okay, it is still safe anyway, and the view from the room is unbeatable, so that makes up for it. Also, the Marzon Beach Resort staff are not quite visible during our stay. Since Marzon Beach Resort Boracay doesn’t have direct access to the main road, I contacted them via their cellphone and landline number but no one is answering- I was trying to reach to them so they can assist us with our luggage when we check in but unfortunately no one replied, so we have to do the carrying of our luggage on our own from Anggol beach entry.

Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort upgraded our room from a Standard Room to a Premier Room; however, the assigned room was so noisy at that time due to ongoing construction. Also, the bath towels were not provided in our room, so I had to call to request them. All the other hotels we stayed in offered refillable water, but at Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort, they only gave us two small bottles.

The Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay day-pass is worth it; however, during our stay, there was a company outing of I think more than 300 pax (not so sure about the number), so the place felt crowded on the Mövenpick restaurant side. However, on the pool side and beachfront side, there are fewer people.

Despite a few downsides, I would still highly recommend these hotels and would gladly book them again when I return to Boracay.

Each of these beachfront hotels in Boracay has its own charm. But the best beachfront hotel in Boracay is the one that makes you feel at home by the sea. No matter where you stay, Boracay has a way of capturing your heart and calling you back again.
