Choosing a place to stay was one of the things I carefully considered when planning my first trip to Baguio. I would be spending a full week in the city, so I wanted accommodations that would give me easy access to the places I wanted to visit while still being comfortable enough to come back to after a long day of exploring.
For the first two nights of our Baguio trip, I chose Hotel Elizabeth Baguio. My decision was based on several practical considerations, including its location, room rate, included breakfast, parking, and the feedback I had seen from previous guests.
A Convenient Location for Sightseeing
One of the main reasons I considered Hotel Elizabeth was its location. Several of the places on my Baguio itinerary were nearby, including Good Shepherd Convent, Mines View Park, The Mansion, Wright Park, and Baguio Botanical Gardens.
The hotel is located at 1 J. Felipe corner Gibraltar Road, Baguio, Benguet. Based on the distances I noted during my planning, it is approximately 2.35 km from Session Road and 2.44 km from SM City Baguio.
Another practical detail I discovered during our stay was that the terminal for the free shuttle service going to Mt. Camisong was within walking distance from the hotel. This was convenient for us because Mt. Camisong was one of the places we wanted to include in our Baguio itinerary.
The location worked well for our itinerary because many of the places I wanted to explore were in the same general area. It also meant we weren’t staying directly in the busiest part of the city.
What I Paid for Our Stay
When I booked the hotel, our room rate was ₱3,226 per night. The booking I made included a breakfast buffet, which was something I considered when comparing accommodation options.
The hotel also provides parking spaces, which was important to us because we traveled to Baguio by car.
A ₱1,000 security deposit was required during our stay. Hotel policies and rates can change, so I recommend confirming the current room rate, inclusions, deposit requirements, and other policies directly with the hotel before booking.
What I Liked About the Hotel
Hotel Elizabeth is a five-story building with 69 rooms and has its own restaurant, lounge, and bar.
Our room had a balcony with a nice view, which I particularly enjoyed. Another thing I appreciated during our stay was how quiet the room was at night. After spending the day sightseeing, having a peaceful place to rest made a big difference.
The rooms don’t have air conditioning, but during our stay, the cool Baguio weather made this perfectly comfortable for us. Of course, temperatures can vary depending on the season, so this is something to consider based on your own preferences.
The hotel also has a 24-hour front desk and security, which gave us some additional peace of mind during our stay.
Things to Consider Before Booking
No accommodation will be the perfect choice for every traveler. If you’re considering Hotel Elizabeth, think about what matters most to you.
The location may work particularly well if your itinerary includes attractions around Mines View, Wright Park, The Mansion, and Good Shepherd. On the other hand, travelers who want to be right in the middle of the activity around Session Road may prefer accommodation closer to downtown.
I also recommend checking the hotel’s current rates and guest policies before making a reservation, as prices, inclusions, and availability can change.
The People and the Breakfast Made Our Stay Better
One of the things I appreciated during our stay was how accommodating and friendly the people at the hotel were. From the security guards and reception staff to the restaurant team, everyone we interacted with was courteous and approachable.
Whenever we had questions about getting around Baguio or finding nearby tourist spots, the staff were happy to help and politely point us in the right direction. As a first-time visitor to Baguio, I found this especially helpful. Sometimes, having someone familiar with the area give you a little guidance can make exploring a new city feel much easier.
The buffet breakfast was another part of our stay that I looked forward to each morning. There was a variety of food to choose from, which gave us different options before heading out for a day of sightseeing. Having breakfast already included in our booking was also convenient since we didn’t have to look for a place to eat first thing in the morning.
Of course, breakfast selections and hotel services can change depending on the hotel’s current offerings, so what we experienced during our stay may not necessarily be the same for every guest. But during our visit, having a good selection of breakfast choices and friendly staff added to our overall experience at Hotel Elizabeth.
Would I Stay Here Again?
For our first two nights in Baguio, Hotel Elizabeth worked well for what we needed. The reasonable rate, included buffet breakfast, parking, convenient location, and quiet room made it a practical choice for the beginning of our week-long trip.
Most importantly, it gave us a comfortable place to rest while we started exploring Baguio.
It wasn’t simply about finding the cheapest or fanciest hotel. I was looking for a place that matched our itinerary and budget — and based on our experience, Hotel Elizabeth was a good fit for those first two nights.
